New Mix Room

I'm starting a new mix room project in my home, and I've never done this before. The mix room I'm in now was wonderfully setup for me.

It's a 14x11x8 room. Just a typical old bedroom really. Can't remodel the room itself, so just looking to treat it appropriately. There are a couple issues for me. 2 corners aren't very wide AND the ceiling is that peely, bumpy stuff.

Any placement advice or otherwise would be helpful, thank you! PHOTO TIME!

Door with problem corner

Closet with problem corner

Ceiling

Window (guessing monitors should not face this?)

Other corners and walls

The ceiling is fine, so don't worry about that. In fact it might scatter frequencies a dog will here.

As far as set up you will want to face the short wall in the room and start by sitting back around 38% of the room length. Note that it is only a starting point as you will want to move forward and back to find the best response. From there it is treatment of early reflection point and bass trapping in corners. Great info, there, thanks.

Ok, so if I'm facing the short wall, the window will be on my right. The wall behind me has the closet and the TINY corners. My biggest concern is being able to even treat those corners sufficiently.

You can put bass traps on stands, but also keep in mind that you can also treat the ceiling to wall corners around the room. Like this.

Wow that's awesome. What was used for the frames in those black traps in the pic?
