Thread Starter | Double Insulation?
Hi, were building a studio inside of a garage. Were wondering if double insulatiing the ceiling would be better for sound reduction? Thanks

No it won't. Insulation is used as part of the acoustic treatment to help the quality of sound within your studio. What you need for sound reduction is mass and lots of it. Search the forum for topics about isolation. The question will arise as to how much isolation do you need. In plain English, how loud is it outside the studio and how quiet does it need to be? A helpful start will be to read and do John Brant's balloon test, as he explains toward the bottom of this post.
