Building custom desk

I'm wanting to build my own custom desk and am in the process of planning it out right now. What I have in mind is racks on either side, sinking my mixer into a main section and having a rack bridge for my comp monitor and possibly a set of small speakers. My main question is depth. I want the side racks to have racks under the bridge where I will place my patchbays but I also want to have a decent workspace and room for the patch cables to lay without getting in the way. Just wondering if anyone has a similar design and wanted to share their ideas on depth.
