Thread Starter | DIY sliding glass doors
Has anyone here built sliding glass doors from scratch, completely DIY ? We would like to replace our "normal" door to the drum booth with a sliding glass door. A pre-made custom ordered one is off the charts cost wise. We have been offered a bunch of big iso-glass windows for free. (just the glass, no framework). I´m toying the idea of building the framework and turn these into sliding glass doors... Any words of wisdom besides don´t do it ? ![]() If you´ve done it please share some inspiration ! |

Yes, isolation is the main concern. I have some ideas but will need to think through it some more. I would do two doors with an airgap in between. | |

| If isolation is your main concern, go with what produces better isolation, ie. better door (and windows in the door) seals and have normal doors. If saving space and having a room that feels bigger and lighter are your main concerns then go with more glass, more light and have sliding glass doors.
