downside to stacking half height superchunks?

greets,

i have 8' ceilings and was thinking of making superchunks 4 feet in height and stacking them. easier to move around and easier to fine tune the room by different placements, like moving from wall/wall to floor/wall.

any people have a take on this?

one thing i am learning from all this reading on room treatments, and taking my own first steps, is the hard and fast rules i was looking for..... from science to other's trial and error, still happen in the context of one's own unique room - a variable in the equation so huge it just slaps the facts around.

the only real answer is - do it, test it.

fixed that for you.
measure the room first and identify issues that need to be treated.
play with speaker and listening position placement to find optimal "starting point"
add bass trapping, experiment with placement again, etc. measure and repeat.

no issues building them 4' high and stacking - end product/coverage is the same.

Sure making them 4' and stacking them is fine. The more you add the better the room will sound.
