Thread Starter | QuietSeal is an evil product...just sayin'
Just finished hanging QuietRock on a little 14x8' room addition on my main 12x14' room. Went with QR since this space will mostly be for storage, mic locker, archives etc. and/or a tracking room for my 7 guitar amps. With that in mind I opted out of using the R Channel approach and decided on QRock, but I did go with QuietSeal to squirt in between all panels as I did with my main room. I had a horrible experience using it when I did the main room so I hired my wallbaord hanging guy to deal with it this time...it's unanimous this stuff was created by Satan himself. We both swear to never use it again. It's unbelievably messy and hard to apply esp. with the big caulking gun for the mega tubes... clean-up is horrible and even when finished with the application it will sag thru your mudded seems and look ugly...not to mention it is SPENDY. I've covered the mudded seams with room treatments and panels so you CAN hide it. There has to be an alternative. Has anyone tried something else that stays pliable after application? BTW too early to tell if QRock works as well as hanging plain rock on RC...time will tell.
