Thread Starter | Small but treated vocal booth and how to get rid of the reflections from the window.. Hello everybody, I built a little vocal/guitar amp booth, 1,40m x 1,35m x 2m that I HAVE to use for some “screamers” and guitar amps to keep my neighbors from calling the police every five minutes. To tame the “boxiness”, I treated about 85% of the walls and the ceiling with approx. 4inch thick “basotect” absorber panels. My last and probably biggest problems are the direct reflections caused by the window. Due to my poor skills I didn’t angle it, so the reflections spread right back towards the back of the mike and the singer. Would a reflexion filter, such as the SE or the “mic thing” be good solution to this one? I’m just concerned as I read a lot of mixed reviews of those thingies and some people state that they color the signal in an unpleasant way. As I said, I’m only concerned about the direct reflections from the window, not the room, that is pretty much “dead”. Mics used for the “screamers” are mostly SM 57 and as soon as I get it SM7b, to keep the room as much out of the equation as possible. Thanks for your help Alex. |

Hey boggy, wouldn't that have the same effect as a reflexion filter? I'm trying something, that takes as little room as possible. thx Alex. |
