Thread Starter | metal closet doors
the back of my room has a closet in it, about 24" deep. 6 feet wide. It has metal, sliding doors. each door is an 18" panel- they open in "V's". like this: V V and when closed look like this: ---- or soemthing..... anyway, it's about 6 feet away from my head when mixing. While I haven't the knowledge or wherewithal to comment on WHAT they do to the sound in the room, I have to believe that they're causing all kinds of reflections that should be dealt with. What might be the best way to tackle this? I don't want them to look crappy and I'd like to do something reversible. I'm thinking some sort of absorption or diffusion placed right on the doors, right? so what material and how should it be faced, etc.... thanks! N |

Another option is to take the doors off. I did that in my room and turned the built in wardrobe into a keyboard rack. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Gearslutz.com App

Depending on what you're putting in the cupboard, it may be better sound-wise than the metal doors... Or.. You could just hang some acoustic panels (HF absorbers) fom them. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Gearslutz.com App |
