mixing/tracking same room strategies

I'm turning my basement into a small project studio, and since i don't have the budget to support any major construction, I'm going with putting the control room and studio in the same room. It's a pretty nice sounding room to begin with, but I'm having trouble deciding on placement issues for the monitors and what not. I want to have a relatively accurate listening environment for mixing while not taking up too much tracking space. I've attached a very approximate drawing of my room, but you should get the idea. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

You are going to really need to test the room in different spots to see what is best but looking at your room I would try putting the mix spot facing the lower left corner and try facing the right 12' wall. For treatment I would put bass traps in as many corners as possible the treat any early reflection points. Also I would think about using some kind of movable panels while recording.
