11 inches of Roxul

I currently have 11 inches of ordinary Roxul insulation in a dropped ceiling in my 9 x 10 room. Is this of any value or would the Roxul AFB add a significant improvement.

Thanx

" HUNG ceiling, SUSPENDED ceiling"

It's probably doing something.

11".... Is there a thing as too dense.
Is there possible reflexions coming off the ceiling tiles.

Before and after measurements would help you answer your question.

If by "ordinary Roxul" you mean light stuff with ~10 kg/m3 density, it is better than AFB for sound absorption.

Its Roxul Flexibatt. Don't know the specs on it. There are no ceiling tiles, it's a dropped frame on 24 inch centers with light cloth.

Fexibatt is now branded as Comfortbatt. It will do fine.
