Small Room With Ideal Room Ratio or Large Room With Less-than-Ideal Ratio? (Re-Post)

[This is a re-post of a thread which was posted on this forum yesterday, but is NOT appearing in the listings. Hopefully, this re-post will succeed in getting it to appear in the listings.]

I have two rooms in my new house, and I need to decide where I will be putting my mixing room. I will also be doing some recording in the room.

The ceilings in both rooms are 8' high.

Room 1 is approximately 11' X 14'. Its dimensions are extremely close to a well-known "ideal room ratio."

Room 2 is approximately 15' X 20,' which is quite a bit larger. However, its "room ratio" falls into the "not bad, but not good" category.

My understanding is that in selecting mixing and recording rooms, generally bigger (up to a point) is better, but it is also important to try to get as close as possible to an ideal room ratio.

(FYI: I already own plenty of acoustical treatment, and would be willing to buy more, if needed.)

So, which room do I choose? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The larger room is almost twice as large as the smaller room, and the lowest supported frequency half an octave lower. The room fits in the acceptable range shown in figs 5 and 6 of BBC RD 1993 08. The larger room is better.
