I found very affordable fiberglass with a density of 10 kg/m^3. Would that be adequate for 34" (front face) SSC's? Or maybe too light?

I reckon 10KG will be fine. If you compress it into the frame the density will go up a bit. Sometimes we don't even cut the stuff, just stick the roll, in it's bag into the corner. Seems to work if you need a temporary or portable fix. I kinda think a little Eureka has happened, probably un-noticed... Your suggestion seems smarter. But what about this? Put them vertically, 2 on top of each other. All pieces have a 1,2m (48") height and different widths (see diagram) Like this it will be just 8 cuts per SSC. top view (dimensions in cm) ![]() front view (dimensions in cm) | |

E aí, "meu rei", beleza? If in the end you decide for the traditional triangular shape (remembering that 10kg/m3 is not dense enough to stack vertically without a frame), DD always suggest this excellent and easy way to make the chunks - 24 " faced there. But go with the 34" face, they will perform a lot better. Ciro *Edit (now I see you´re not the thread starter, sorry laagman ...) |

The design you linked to, is almost exactly what I had in mind. Painting the frame in the same color as the fabric seems a good idea! I'm sure about doing 34", but I haven't decided about the density, 10 or 20 kg/m^3... tying to figger that out using this tool: New Porous Absorber Calculator Btw, what's your location in Brazil?
