[QUOTE=pauloticks;6508303]I have been nothing but thankful and kind to all the advice but I am getting tired of the lack of humility and general rudeness some of the responses seem
to possess.

DITTO. Would explain why many of us simply lurk. Posting ANY question seem to open the flood gates of "let me show you all how smart I am". Rather than actual HELP.

Which is a REAL shame. Gear Slutz USED to be a favorite place to learn for me. Now it seems to be feeding on it's own children. Very Sad situation.

I will continue lurking, but I will no doubt let another couple of years pass before I ask a question. I cannot think of any situation that would cause me to ACTUALLY ASK A QUESTION HERE. VERY SAD, as I have many questions.

BTW. I am 35 years in the business pro Audio Enginear with a private Analog/Digital studio in the Florida Keys. Would LOVE to be asking some trim questions here as I am near completing a 1500' "slow" studio/retreat build.

Maybe questions Next Year. Til then, lurking and chiming in when I think I can add, help or give Kudo's to a real helper.

Guys, let's not all get dramatic here. If you find SAC unpleasant, than ignore him. Simple as that. Truth be told, before he arrived here, there was little need for discussion, as every incident was prescribed with 2x4' "thicker the better" broadband. Sort of an acoustics version of penicillin. He has brought a level of discussion that many of us find invaluable. Learn how to ask the right questions by doing a bit of leg work, and I think you'll find the responses far less contentious.

TO the OP, no clapping, regardless of location, will verify effectiveness, or lack there of. Clapping, is very useful for identifying flutter echo. A phenomenon that occurs between two parallel surfaces. The nature of the effect assumes normal incidence, and thus can not satisfy the question of effectiveness. Executing an ETC graph with the panel located in a grazing plane is really the only way to determine success/failure. It's easy to fall back on "well my ears tell me it's ok"... this is flawed thinking. If the human ear wasn't so easily fooled, you wouldn't need listening room acoustics period.

No disrespect.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but did you glue fabric on the back of the 703 as well? If not, can you remove the 703 from the frames, flip it over, and re-cover?
