Thread Starter | Home Studio Console Placement and Treatment
Heya Slutz, Hoping you can help me out here. Moving into my new house, and get to set-up shop in a pretty good sized downstairs room. Overall, the room is 25' x 17' with 9' ceilings. I've tried to fumble my way through a paint program to give you an idea of what I'm working with. It's the room.png attachment drawing. A solid back wall (all concrete walls), but lots of windows on the front-side. Since the room is downstairs, there is a stair opening I've marked with the solid black space. So, this is actually an opening (with open stairs coming down) with space underneath. Also, attached a couple pics to show the windows and stair opening. Any recommendations you could make for: 1. Console placement (my guess would be where the X is). Should I use the 33% rule and move it about 5' from the wall, facing the solid back wall? 2. Acoustic Treatment Thanks a mil!!!! |

| http://www.gearslutz.com/board/6493511-post2.html More or less the same applies to your situation. In most cases (in smaller rooms at least), it’s better to face a short wall (and centered between the long walls naturally). |
