Ceiling Issues?

A few questions:

What issues will this ceiling (drywall) cause in a control room?

How can they be remedied?

Is it better to orientate the listening position WITH the soffits or against?

Thanks for your help!

it also depends on the room dimensions - long versus short, but if the soffits are symmetrical in the room or close enough, then either way should be fine. if the soffits are significantly skewed go across them so the absorption you put in between them is more balanced at the mix position. then again it might not matter depending on the overall treatment plan...

if you have a hard floor like wood or concrete, the ceiling should be soft and absorbed and diffused.

Thanks for the replies!

The room is roughly 25x25 ft. We're still deciding how large we'd like the control room to be, but it will likely be roughly 25x14 ft.

Floors are concrete.
