Thread Starter | is my closet good enought to have room treatment?
im thinking about getting my closet a room treatment, but i never recorded in a room with foam treatment, i wanted to know if the closet is good enough for room treatment, also, how big is the benefit if you have a room that is treated? when i record, i record close to the computer and the mic picks up every sound from the computer to the kitchen. im willing to spend whatever to get my closet treated, but i want to know what you guys think. thanks guys. my main goal is to get clean vocals ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Well, lest I sound like your mom, it might benefit from being straightened up. You keep mentioning "treating" the closet. And never having worked in a room with foam...whatever that has to do with the topic. And I correct to ASSUME that you want to increase the isolation and hence reduce the sound transmission from the closet into the adjoining room? And is your concern simply to isolate the noise from the computer only? Or do you actually envision treating the internal space for reflections and LF bass modes? Please clarify the specific concerns and defined uses of each space. And if it helps, internal treatment of a room for LF modal issues and reflections is a totally separate issue from noise isolation of a space or a component. |

i use my closet as well, but it's at least 2.5-3x as deep. i can tell you foam helps, but only like 10-15%. i have added 0c703 panels, but in your case, i think the whole closet is too small and you might be better off getting one of those reflection filter things.
