Mastering Room - How to start?

Hello,

We are going to make a mastering room in our basement. Below you may see the plan of the raw room and sizes. Please note that there is just one long room in our basement. The first question is on which side should be speakers and desk. On the "Position A" or "Position B"? (Positions are shown on the 2nd picture)

Extending a new wall under the ceiling beam and divide A & B and making B CR with the front being the "top" section is an another idea but smaller rooms brings bigger problems and acoustical treatment costs.

All scientific ideas and sketchs are welcome

Thanks for your inputs.

Deniz

Rooms should open to be larger in the rear, so Position A is preferred.

If treated correctly, I don’t think it will matter much in this case.

The door

Thanks for your comments.

If we choose "position A", do you think the door position is ok?

The door is fine there because it's behind your head and doesn't affect room symmetry and doesn't necessarily need a panel there.
