Thread Starter | My studio - acoustics advice please? amateur paint diagram enclosed
This is a diagram of my current studio which I hope will give you a fair idea of what I am working with. Yeah it took me ages but I'm sat in work with nothing else to do so what the heck! I just want some opinions on how best to treat the room for acoustics (particularly taking into consideration the gap left by the window behind the monitors which is about a foot deep) to avoid early reflections. I am producing bass heavy dance music and drum and bass. I know this is a rather vague post but I used up all my posting energy on the studio plan!! Any help, hints, advice or questions would be greatly appreciated |

More specifically - any advice on speaker placement and what to do about the gap behind the desk if anything - I am a complete novice at this sort of thing and would just like to hear from a more experienced person what they think I should eb doing with this room thumbsup

The front window is not a source of reflections because your speakers don't face that way: Front Wall Absorption You need to move the DJ gear on the right to be symmetrical left-right in the room: How to set up a room The rest of your questions are addressed here: Acoustic Basics If you need any follow-up advice, just ask. --Ethan ________________ The Acoustic Treatment Experts |

As always: Minimize the size of that desk, and get the speakers OFF of it and onto stands placed several feet behind the radically minimized work surface!!! All of the pertinent gear could fit onto one shown here; http://www.gearslutz.com/board/6277064-post2.html |
