Thread Starter | How to... basic acoustic treatment in my room.
I'm trying to choose my first monitors (probably ADAM A7X) but It won't be good enough without acoustic treatment in my room. so basically I tried to draw a sketch of my room with the furniture and how it supposed to be arranged... here is is: ![]() the 2 black squares sided to the gear/computer desktop supposed to be the monitor stands this is also my bedroom so I'm not going to use rockwool or glasswool because people said its unhealthy and i'm going to spend lots of time in that room... I will follow the basic DIY tutorial and build up a 2'4'4/6/8" panels (I hope you guys can tell me the dimensions) with an acoustic foam called "Snow white", its not good as rockwool but its not harmful either. I'd like to add that I don't care to move everything again so the closet would be in another spot..bed.. etc.. as long as its necessary So please if you have any idea what should I be doing I'll like to hear... Thanks alot! |

the positioning of monitors is good, experiment with different distance to the wall for optimising your low end response. a measurement-mic comes handy hear and even a cheap one (like behringer) with free software is enough. you could also use a omni-ldc to start with if you already have one. have you checked the other threads concerning basic acoustic models like reflection free zone? how high is the room? i would start with 2 superchunks in the lower corners, a cloud above your mixing-position/monitors, sidepanels and place as many absorbers on the rearwall as you can - if you could move the closet in the middle of the wall you could place the panels beside the closet for establishing your rfz. pretty sure you'll need more bass traping but i would make a measurement before going further... hope that helps, good luck! |
