Hello one and all, My parents are currently in the process of adding an extra bedroom to the side of our house (I've been living elsewhere while at university). When completed it'll be roughly about 10ft x 16ft, and all that will be in it is the desk where ill be doing my editing/recording, my bed, and some storage boxes. I'm only looking to get a songwriting/composing/sound design setup as opposed to a full blown studio. I have been thinking in investing in a set of KRK RP6 monitors for when the rooms complete, which have a range of about 49Hz -20kHz, and was contemplating adding their additional sub woofer to cover the full spectrum. What I am wondering is what method of acoustic treatment and bass trapping I should administer. The corners will be dealt with via bass traps, but I'm thinking about what sort of panels I should use for the walls and/or ceiling (which will be flat, I doubt there is an attic). I haven't done a great deal of acoustics but plan do read up more once the degree is out of the road (music technology), so any help from some knowledgeable pro's would be excellent. So forum, what do you recommend I do to treat the room on a budget, but get a good sound thats reasonably balanced from my room, to make the most of the monitors and equipment I can buy? Thanks guys! |
