Looking for affordable diffusers in Europe i only found this one: Pulsar Fusor DA. Unfortunatelly there's no detailed acoustic data, only the "performance" at 2000Hz, 4000Hz and 8000Hz is shown in a downloadable pdf file. Beeing only 7,5cm (3") deep and made out of high density EPS, i suppose it doesn't work at 1000Hz and bellow. Looking at RPGs Diffractal something crossed my mind: the pulsar fusor is 60cm (2') wide and has 4 repetitions. So cutting one panel into 4 pieces gives me 4 units each 15cm (6") wide with no repeating pattern. How about building (DIY) a couple of QRD 11 with a well width of 12cm and depth of 23cm (stuffed with rockwool) and using the units as wells? What do you thing, would this construction work better at lower frequencies? Gigi |
