Thread Starter | New Room Help...
so i'm moving to a bigger location and want to treat my new area. It will be used for production and DJing. this is the rough floorplan of the room ripped from the complex's website: ![]() the blue line represents a wall that will be built to close off the room. I will have a small desk for my turntable setup and a desk similar to the omnirax presto (couldnt find a picture, forgot the brand of desk) my questions are how would you configure the two desks, and where would you place traps? this is my first time treating a room. any help is appreciated. |

Put the mix spot facing the left wall and start by sitting back 38% of the room length. See the following for placement of acoustics GIK Acoustics: Room Setup

thank you.So far I'm planning to put 4" traps in the corners, a 6" trap behind me, 2" traps on the ceiling.for the early reflection points, could auralex foam be used? I have 6 pieces laying around. or should i use more 2" traps? what about the window?

Skip the wall. It'll only decrease the room volume, and do pretty much nothing positive. Yes, Auralex can be used at the reflection points. You'll need something in front of the window to force symmetry on that side...a panel, thick curtains...something. Frank
