1.5khz - the bane of my existence

I thought I post this here.

I have a tacoma dm9 with phosphor bronze elixir strings.

it has a ring - or rather - the strings and the room seem to have a sympathetic ring at 1560hz (using logic's channel eq to zero in on the resonance.)

I have a completely untreated small room with vaulted ceiling and a wood floor, plaster walls. but when I take the guitar into other sized room in my house - I can still hear the resonance.

I'm using an LR Baggs M1 and an Oktava MK012 to capture the guitar and I get so much 1560hz resonance that I use -24db notch to get rid of it.

So I'm wondering if treatment is the answer - or another guitar?

Does anyone else have problems with this frequency band when recording steel string acoustic?

Thanks,

Michael

I suspect that the room is at least part of the problem, possibly a large part. That's a lot of hard surfaces all around you. The solution to that part of the problem would be to treat the ceiling above you, get a 5'x8' rug under you and use a couple/few panels either on the walls around you or on stands.

The other thing that occurs to me is that your guitar might need some moisture...maybe the body is too dry? That may be contributing to the 1.5Khz annoyingness.
