Thread Starter | Hi! How far have to be the speakers between them? The room is 11 ' of Width and 22 Length. 3 Way speaker with Tweeter and the center between the Cones. |

| Lives for gear | Depends It kinda depends on everything.....:-) However an equilateral triangle with you at the point and the speakers at the other two points is a good starting point. Try to get your mix position around 7 feet from the front wall. If you get a compromise between those two requirements it is a good start. Further refinement is best done measurement using Fuzzmeasure or REW. DD |

Thread Starter | Yeah..mix position is fine..but what about the distance bettwen each speaker???? so then I can place the speakers to put the triangle in action. |

| Lives for gear | Geometry Try them close to the front wall, within 1 metre. Closer gives more bass, if it's too much move out a bit. Since the mix position is set for some reason, the triangle will determine the width. 2/3 or the room width is probably a reasonable shot. There is no simple magic figure, you are trying to get a balance. I am curious as to why the mix position is fine though? DD |

| Lives for gear | yes, I'm also with both the last posts.. One thing you must remember that the wider your sound stage is during mixing... the more MONO your mixes will be. I suggest no more than 60 degrees apart from your mix position. The distance from speaker to speaker will be determined by YOUR distance from them. An easy way to do this is to draw with the aid of a protractor a 60 degree angle on a piece of paper. Hold the drawing with yourself at the apex and sight the speakers down each leg. That should get you at a starting position. Have fun.

| Get the book "mixing with your mind". It not only goes into your topic, but explains other things very well.
