Room placement for drum kit and room treatment?

I have no idea about drums and am asking this for my brother.

He just bought a drum kit and has stuck it in a room 2.5 high, 4 long and 3 wide, give or take a couple inches.

What would be the best room placement for the kit?

And what sort of basic treatment should I get for him to begin with. The room is solid brick.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the newb question but I really have no idea.

I am going to assume that is in meters.

If it is just for playing in I would start with a few bass traps made from mineral wool or rigid fiberglass with thinner panels (made from the same) throughout the room on the walls (maybe start with covering around 25% of the walls). Also I would put a few of the panels above the kit to stop crazy reflections coming from the ceiling.

Thank you.

Where would I place the kit within this room? I am guessing just off center?

Is this the general set up for a room, even if he was to move the drum into a slightly smaller space?

Thanks. Im really so clueless when it comes to setting up drums, micing them in studios cool, but practice rooms like this....

I would move the kit around until you found the best spot. Start with it about 30% of the room length and see how it sounds.
