Thread Starter | Carpenter in Los Angeles for building acoustic treatments?
Hi guys, A friend of mine is having Rives Audio spec out his hi-fi listening room, and needs to have a few treatments built. Anyone know a carpenter experienced with this kind of stuff in the LA area? Any assistance would be much appreciated... Cheers, Mike |

Custom work like that is pretty expensive. It probably makes more sense to just buy the treatments from an established vendor. I sell treatment to Rives customers all the time. The only exception might be if your friend wants to integrate the panels into the room to hide them. In that case any decent carpenter can do that, or be shown how to do that. --Ethan

I think the main things he wants custom built are the half-round columns on either side of his TV, which are supposed to be round plywood from floor to ceiling (plus I think he wants to have some kind of decorative box built around the crown molding), and the floor-to-ceiling bass trap in the front corner. Your site has lots of great info, I'll be sure to pass it on to him, thanks Ethan! |
