New Studio Layout

Hello Slutz!

I just finished my Google SketchUp drawing of my new homestudio. We're moving to a new house and im rebuilding the current garage to what i've drawn here. Note that this is not my desk or my gear, it's just to give an impression. (The actual desk will be a bit smaller...) Also the couch is just there for looks.

Anything you guys notice? The entire space is about 6.30 Meters X 3.20 Meters. What do you guys think about the basstrapping and the absorber panels? (I will make a ceiling cloud also... Early reflection and all...) Is it sufficient? Do i need more? Is it a good start? What about the lay-out. I know the room is propably to small for a seperate vocalbooth, but i just want to record 'live'. So that i can listen to it on the monitors with some other cats while the artist (or in my case, some weird mate of mine ) is doing his thing.

Really open for suggestions and such!

Thanks!

Few things..

*Don't make the room squ.
*I would not up the walk way in there and just make the whole thing the VB.
*You need to cover the reflections on the ceiling.
*Thick absorption on the back wall.

Just to add, I'd actually consider making it all one big room and dispensing with the vocal booth entirely. It'll just be a small, crappy-sounding room and the trade off will be a smaller control room. If you leave it one big space then you can the benefits of a larger room both sonically and acoustically.
