Rear wall RFZ

Hi!

I work in a small/tiny room (11,5 X 9,5 X 8,6),used primarilly for mixing.
There are 18 traps , some broadband (L/R and ceiling RFZ and center of rear wall)and some covered with cardboard (all in the corners and side walls except RFZ).
6 in the rear wall (including wall/ceiling).
The measured response (REW) is good. Some issues in the mids, that I´m treating (overall +/-8 db) , and +/-5 in the 50/350hz region.
My question is a about the RFZ on rear wall (my distance from the wall is 6,5'):
the entire wall needs to absorb highs or the traps directly beside the center could be only "bass traps" (I´m planning, if possible, covering w/ cardboard, which works very well to others I have.
Floor is carpeted, and every m³ of "liveness" is welcome...
Thanks!

Lightbulb

A wall close behind you needs to be fully absorbent in the middle area behind your head. The outer four corners can be corner bass traps.

Juat to add you will want to use thick panels in the middle. 6" if possible

Thumbs up

Tks, Ethan!

The 2 traps I have in the center of rear wall behind my head (3' x 2,5', strange size, I know) are broadband, but I though the traps directly beside these "center traps" (in the rear wall, not corners)should absorb mids and highs too just for being in the rear wall.Nice to know they are "out" of RFZ.

Hi Glenn!

All 4" panels, but I´ll follow your advice and buy more panels to make these center ones thicker.

Thanks again!

before you do that try and space them off the wall 4". It might just be enough and cost zero!
