Measuring my room

im lookin to measure the frequency response of my room and im just wonderin if this spl meter will do the trick Mini Sound Level Meter > Maplin or do i need a better one? and also i only got 2 condenser mics, the adk a51 and the studio projects b1, can i use those or do what other cheap solutions can i do

aha!!!

From this data it appears that for measuring loudspeaker setup and room treatments, the $40 Nady or $50 Behringer are quite adequate - within a few dB of the most expensive options - and far better than the Radio Shack SPL meter which is often recommended.

if i get the behringer ecm8000 will i still need an spl meter to use with the Room EQ Wizard? can i just get away just using the behringer mic

Either will do, though the ECM8000 is a better microphone.

I got both so I can use the spl for monitor calibration as well......slightly off topic but something else worth considering while your in the mindset of improving your monitoring.

Eh...you can use the SPL meter for other things I suppose. It's not a bad investment, especially if you do any live audio work.
