Vocal Booth

VOCAL BOOTH - 76 x 42 x 42 - w/Front Door + Light! - eBay (item 260349204084 end time Jan-28-09 20:12:08 PST)

What are your thoughts on something like this? I do not have an ideal room to record vocals, I do have the reflexion filter but need more to kill the room sound completly.

I personally think they're ridiculous... the only think you're going to kill here is the high end ... this won't do much of anything for freq under 1k... so that leaves you with a lifeless high end and boomy low. You'd be just as well off to hang some blankets from some mic stands in the same configuration if you want to test out what this might sound like... at least then you'd save the $400.

What's wrong with your room?

perhaps you cold make your own and line the sides with rockwool base traps; perhaps with a fiber glass backing.

Ethan would you suggest carpeting the floor as well so no reflections from are coming for the hardwood floor?

I need some help.

If i put carpet on the walls would that help kill the echo? If so whats the best way to go about it? Where do i put the carpet on the walls?

Carpet is not good acoustic treatment. It's okay for floors, and appropriate there, but not for walls. There's a ton of advice in the links below:
