Minimum Size For Quality Mastering Room

whats the minimum dimensions for a room that I can set up a hifi system where I'd get a very balanced frequency response down to 40hz, assuming I have the $$ for room treatment and alteration?

Roughly speaking, run numbers for a favorable ratio that gives you in the twenties deep, teens wide, and in the neighborhood of a dozen feet high. You may be able to make a serviceable room a little smaller with a proper design and construction, not simply surface treatment after the fact, but it's easier if you get to 4,000 or 5,000 cubic ft. It's a bit of a headache when you get below 3,000 cu. ft.

Honest, as large as possible, I would say at least 30 m2 (320 sq ft) or 100 m3 (3500 cu ft) and those are internal size dimension, not external

This is so true... you're going to lose at least 25% of your cu/ft due to bass trapping in a properly built room!
