Two silly (and cheep) diffusor ideas..any merit to them?

Here I go again with a couple of ideas for fellow "cheapsters".

For diffusors:

1) Whilst ambling around in Home Depot, it occured to me that plastic paint roller trays...with thier angled bottoms..may be useful diffusors. How about using these (spray-painted to taste), stuffed with pink fiberglass?
The bottom would be the "show side". They could be thumbtacked to a wall or cieling.

2) How about louvered wooden doors...you know, the lightweight louvered, hinged kind? These are around $5 each used, and can just stand up on thier own. I bought a bunch and have them arrainged helter-skelter across the rear of my room.

Experts.....any merit in these ideas??????

Not really. One key for diffusion is the front-to-back depth must be enough to work to a usably low frequency. Paint pans and louvered doors are nowhere near deep enough. Another important issue is the shape of the diffusor. It's not like any old random pattern will be useful. If you watch my video All about Diffusion you'll be able to hear a variety of surfaces close up. It's about half-way down the list here:
