Kandu Furniture - GREAT "studio" furniture on a budget.

I was looking for a workstation for my small home studio and quickly realised that there are not many good/useful pieces of furniture out there for those on a tight budget.

There is all the professional stuff from the likes of AKA Design, Lund Halsey, Omnirax etc, but this is all way to costly for me and many home studio guys and most standard office furniture can still cost a bit too much for something that does not really do more than an adequate job.

So anyway, for those in the UK/Europe, I found a company online called Kandu-Furniture. They have a pretty cool range for very little money.

Now, don't get me wrong, these will not rival the pro stuff, but they get that pro look and stability and offer some of the ergonomics of the pro stuff. They are better than anything else I found from any office furniture places.

I bought the Alpha-Centura desk. Fortunately, they had a damaged desk in as well, so I got the spare monitor shelf from that to fit to the other end of the desk, so that I could mount my near field monitors on them (they are designed by the manufacturer to hold a computer monitor). These swivel as well, which is cool if you want to alter where they point when you sit a bit further back etc! I use the slide out computer keyboard shelf for my small controller keyboard.

I'd recommend anyone to take a look if you require a cheap (£99 - £150) but great quality workstation for any sort of AV work.

Cheers

My desk arrived and I am pleased with it. However, I am having to make more mosifications than I 1st thought.

I just found this stuff, which looks really good value (studio stuff).

Online Catalog » Recording Stations

I could have paid slightly less for the Creation Station. Although, I don't need the rack space, as I have my outboard in Gator cases. Nice stuff though and def the best bargain arround!
