Symmetry in live room?

Hi!

I'm currently building live room. I need suggestions about placing the diffusors and absorbers in the room. I've attached the room plan and my variant. How can you see, there are 2 windows on the right side. How could you judge such kind of decision, any suggestions and comments? Piano is about 1,5m wide or smth... I've also attached ceiling view if needed.
Also this room is going to be used as rehearsal room for 4-5 member bands.

The are 2 questions:
1) Is my plan good enough
2) Main one... Is this room going to sound well?

I hope on your advices!

Lightbulb

Without room dimensions I couldn't even try to guess. But symmetry is not important in a recording space as it is in a control room. Most important is having a room that's simply large enough.

Totally agree. That said, I'm not sure I agree with the treatment plan for the room. You're going to need some bass trapping at least for the back area where you're recording drums or else you may end up with a tubby mess back there. What's your plan for ceiling height back there?

Ooops... I've forgot so important thing.. sizes! sorry)
I've re-attached image in first post, now sizes are shown there.

btw, here they are too:
Room sizes:
8,3 x 5,4 meters
27,3 x 17,6 feets

I did'nt plan to put any bass traps for the back area, because for my opinion there's enough of them on the ceiling (see picture attached here and in first post, yellow line demands to my traps). But, if my colculation is wrong, please corect me.

ceilings - 3 meters (9,9')

Cheers,
Tony

That's a decent sized room. I'd still have some bass traps in the corners, or at least back there where you're tracking drums. The ceiling isn't terrible...I've tracked drums in worse rooms than that. Higher is better, of course, but you have to work with what you've got.

Haha...no, I meant to be encouraging, but I think it came out wrong. I guess what I'm saying is that everything doesn't have to be *perfect*...that's often just not an achievable goal for a room that wasn't built to record in. With some thoughtful planning you can get great results out of imperfect spaces.
