Building a Recording Studio I want to build a recording studio on the 3rd floor of my house, I have two options for the wall construction Option 1: build concrete or brick walls and then apply 2 layers of drywall attached with green glue with fiber insulation. Option 2 : build the walls with 2 layers of drywall attached with green glue with fiber insulation inside leave a gap of air and mirror the construction on the other side like it`s described on Rod Gervais book. This option has an STC of 63. Should I have enough with an STC of 63 or should I need more cause I don`t want the neiborghs to complain. Thanks for any help Edward

Thanks Andre So far there`s a house were I can build a recording studio it has wide rooms on the first floor but the ceiling is too low I guess it`s 2.45 m (8 feet) so I was thinking some options, one is building the studio on the third floor and another one is to dig the first floor so I can have at least 3.00 m (9.8 feet) ceiling, so far I have a room of 7.00 m x 8 .00 m (22.9 ft x 26.2 ft), is 3.00 m (9.8 feet) a good ceiling height or can I live with a lower ceiling?

Would you rent a house with an 8 ft ceiling for a recording studio?
