Control room in the attic

So i need to move my home studio control room up into the attic possibly. Right now the whole thing is finished in tongue/groove wood board and i dunno if thats a good thing or a bad thing. I attached a sketchup image with the dimensions and everything. The ceiling height is pretty low but im thinking about cutting out the middle part of it and drywalling to the studs above. My basement has 7.5 foot ceilings and is totally unfinished, it might be an option too but would be alot more work since it leaks. What do you guys think? I just need a small control room area for mixing. Theres alot of room upstairs but it has short ceilings.

Thanks

Not necessarily. If you remove the flat part of the ceiling, you'll want to fill the entire cavity above with fluffy fiberglass insulation. Then put up a wood frame at the same height as the ceiling OS now, and stretch cloth. So you'll have the same height as now, but the entire triangle shaped area will be solid fiberglass.

The longer you can make the room, the better. Is this mixing only? If so, make it at least 20 feet long. If you want to record in there too make it longer.

Leave the wood - you can always put down area rugs if needed.

Then plan on as much bass trapping as possible, and absorption at the first reflection points on the side walls.

Yeah...that room ought to sound great once you're done treating it. Decent size, decent shape...wood is great. Just cover all the basics for treatment.
