Asymtric back wall is screwing up my stereo image!

Oh boy, just performed some (subjective) tests yesterday in my new room and I think I got a major stereo-imaging problem. As you can see on the image, the backwall of my room is asymetric, so one speakers (Genelec 1030) is “more” in a corner than the other.

While listening to a sinewave and some sawtooths I clearly noticed that the left speaker has more bass than the right one. I just panned to tone full left and full right and noticed that coming from the right it was sharper with less low, and from the left it was like another layer of lowend was added (which also resulted in a slightly diminished top).

Also, when listening to my favorite CDs and some unfinished mixes from Cubase I felt the stereo image was constantly “dragging” to the left. Even drums panned dead center seem to “lean” to left. Not extremely obvious, but noticable and irritable after a close listen.

How to solve this?

Psst... that's your FRONT wall. Let's end this "up is down, down is up" zaniness that threatens to destroy the Earth right here, right now, with this thread!

Sorry, no other useful contribution to this thread though...

Ha ha! You're right, but from the position of my house it is the back wall of the entire house.
Sorry for mixing up my nomenclature! Mea maxima culpa!

Bass traps in the corners, plus more broadband absorption on the front wall, will fix this. For good imaging you also need absorption at the side-wall and ceiling reflection points.
