studio build help

i have recently acquired a 3700 sq foot building and am looking into a studio build out of it. this is the first real studio that i will have and right now the building is just an empty warehouse located in san diego, ca. my question is where is the best place to start because i have been trying to find a acoustical engineer to design and cant find one, so where should i start?

any names or any info will be greatly appreciated

thanks

There are a couple of guys right here on this forums...hopefully they'll chime in shortly. You could also check over at John Sayers' forum.

Have you contacted design professionals outside of your area - they don't have to be in your state (or even your country) to design a studio.

I designed one in the Phillipeans - plus oversaw the construction - and never left my desk........ the studio came out perfect.

Just something to think about.

Sincerely,

Rod

...and I'll throw in props for Rod. He's the man when it comes to studio design/build. I've got his book right over in the bookshelf next to me.

I'm using Jay Kaufman, and couldn't recommend him more highly.

Kaufman and Associates

We're nearly ready to start on my 6,500 sq ft. building in Los Angeles.
