Golden Ratio Does the Golden rate still apply in a room with a 7'2" ceiling? I've understood this to be a good measurement basis for a sound room. How accurate is this? The room im constructing floor plans for is 7'2" x 12'6" x 23. In this space I hope to get a control room and somewhat of a booth. Are there any suggestions or ideas to consider? Before I jump in with my inexperienced construction ideas. For the most part this studio will not be to accompany instruments such as drums or grand pianos .

The golden ratio is not particularly good, nor is it bad. Room size does not affect mode spacing. The best ratios for studio sized rooms are: 1:1:37:1.88; and 1:1.52:2.13. Andre

Thank you Andre, Are there any particular setbacks to a room with a 7 ft. ceiling? Do you suggest anything towards the length and width of the room based on the 7'2" ceiling?

lol: But it can still be moded to be correct sonically? in my experienced i've preffered lower ceilings because it cuts alot of echo issues from the begining. But what are the setbacks of a low ceiling? and what can I do to help the situation? thank you for your replies.

You have strong isolated modes (the bad ones) in the bass range. Try and the ratios as good as possible. I wrote the two best earlier, when I updated the post. Early echo control is a part of room acoustic treatment. Andre
