Just moved, which room for "studio"?

I just moved into a new place and I need to decide which room to use for my "studio", (read: bedroom studio). Nither room is ideal and both are similar sizes (approx 13x10). The difference is one has an 8 foot ceiling and the other has a vaulted ceiling. The room with the vaulted ceiling has a rather large window on one wall, the other has a much smaller window.

My limited knowledge of acoustics tells me to use the room with the vaulted ceiling, but maybe the huge window (about 1/3 of one wall) is a problem.

I should mention the room will be partially treated with eight 2x4 GIK traps and I need to decide by tomorrow because the movers are coming to deliver all our crap.

Thanks for the help!

A drawing would have helped. If you can get left/right symmetry with the vaulted ceiling, and it is higher that eight feet in the middle, use that room.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by left/right symmetry? Facing the long end of the room, the ceiling would slope front/back and it's probably 12-14 feet high in the center.

Can you have a mixing position with the right left walls/and ceiling the same.

Is the ceiling vaulted or sloped?

A drawing would help with both questions.

Ok, here's a very crude drawing of the room and how I envision setting up, side view. There's a ceiling fan at the top of the ceiling so I won't be able to put any treatment there.

Great! Where you plan to put monitors should be fine.

BTW you can put acoustic treatment above the fan.
