| How would you recommend treating this corner for vocals Hello everyone, I'm currently treating my control room and I want to use one of the corners for tracking vocals within the same room. Attached a picture of what the room and corner looks like with measurements. I'm getting six 48"x24"x2" panels of mineral wool per Glenn and Ethan's advice. How do you recommend I cut and fit the mineral wool into this corner? Can I just place it on the wall the way it comes? Apparently, 703 does not need framing but Mineral Wool does, if that's the case I'll be getting 703 instead. Here's the link of I might be getting but I'd like to hear your advice first: 6 ACOUSTIC PANELS Mineral Wool 1230 SOUNDPROOFING - eBay (item 350078249269 end time Aug-09-08 06:43:01 PDT) Also, I already bought a bunch of 2" thick wedge and pyramid shaped foam (treated so it won't be as flammable). Do you think I can place it in top of the 2" thick mineral wool or would it be too much for this room? |

| You can get away with just wrapping 703 in fabric vs you pretty much have to frame mineral wool, but if you want a nice look to it I still would frame the 703. Putting the foam on top of the panel is fine. ![]() Glenn

| Thanks again for your response Glenn. I realize the thicker the material (at least mineral wool, 703 and acoustic foam) the more I can capture lower frequencies. So like you said I'm hoping 2" and 4" foam in top of 2" mineral wool should be helpful and not detrimental. I'm just afraid of the foam capturing too many higher frequencies and not enough low ones. So I'm going to use the superchunk method on the two 90 degree corners I have but the corner pictured has an odd hexagonal shape where I'm dealing with three walls, so how should I treat the top of this corner? I'm thinking I could cover the whole top touching the ceiling and a 4th board on the ceiling (PICTURE A)? or should I put one diagonally touching the ceiling and cover the center part of the wall? (PICTURE B)? |

| Picture "B" is going to work best, but I would still straddle those wall to wall corners even though they are not 90 degrees. If you can't that is fine but just pointing out you can. Glenn
