Placement - speakers myth.

Hello guys!

Yesterday I searched the net for different music theories etc.
And I read one thing; a guy had written; "The distance between monitors is in common about 12 - 15 feet".

Myth or trouth?

I have a 2.9 feet distance between my monitors. :)

2.9' is pretty narrow, but 12-15' is a bit much for anything other than longer throw speakers. Also depends on the width of the room...if you're trying to get a longer throw then they'd be farther apart and higher up.

my room is 3m wide <->, so I have my speakers 2.9 feet apart. So that the triangle is as close as I can get it, due to the 38 % rule; I have to sit 1,08 m back into the room :)
