Talking Drum Iso Booth

I'm looking to build or purchase a drum iso booth for under 3 grand. I need reduce the sound from outside the booth as well as create a decent sound inside for recording. Let me know what you think...

can you DIY or do you need to hire people? $3k is a stretch if you're going to float it.

materials alone are crazy expensive...labor's even more. I think mine cost me around $5k and I did 3/4 of the work myself.

I guess I would look into the prefab ones, but I think they're more like $5-6k.

it's worth every penny though..

If you can DIY it you'll save some money, but $3,000 for real isolation booth is a stretch. I think the other poster's $5,000 figure is probably more reasonable for a DIY project, depending on what you want specifically.

The prefab booths are okay...they're not isolation rooms by any means, but they'll reduce transmission a good bit in the high mids and highs and a little bit in the low end.
