Thread Starter | Room setup/acoustic treatment q's
Hello everybody, I would like some opinion on the all so often asked question about room setup and acoustic treatment. I am not very good in drawing graphics, so please excuse my sketch of how the room looks like at the moment. http://666kb.com/i/azkkz55qmqut989r6.png On the right side, there is a window, with a radiator for the heating directly below, and both start exactly on the corner of the wall, which makes mounting anything directly in this corner impossible. Also it is impossible to place anything in the corner behind the door because the distance from the wall to the door is simply too small or i would not be able to open the door properly. So far I have one piece of furniture in the room (grey), that i have placed my turntables and dj mixer onto and that holds most of my records. My plans are to set up a production table that holds my computer and monitor on the left in this drawing having my nearfield-stands just in front of the window. My outboard equipment goes into a rack on the left of the table (or i buy/build a table where i can include it) and my keyboard/guitar should go to the right of the table (at the bottom side of the room). I now want to know about the best places for the acoustic foam and/or bass traps. The side walls/back wall/ceiling is fairly easy to figure out, to eliminate early reflections, however when it comes to the lower left and lower right corners there is nothing i can place. Same for most of the area with the window/radiator. On the floor is a thick carpet. any comments and help is appreciated |
