| Inside Material for Booth Plenums I have a bedroom closet booth in progress. I have drilled a hole for an intake plenum at the bottom of the booth and will add another one on top for exhaust with a bathroom fan sucking out the air. The closet is very small - 42" by 69". The hole goes through to a bedroom closet on the other side where I basically have all my clothes. I have built this plenum out of mdf. But I wonder what I should put inside. I have lots of extra carpet padding and auralex foam. Here's a couple photos. As you can see, I have an old house with horse hair plaster and wood lathe... ![]() ![]() |

| The standard material for putting inside air ducts is "duct liner" which is basically 703 rigid fiberglass. I think they also spray a black colored substance onto the fiberglass to make sure none of the particles get loose into the air. --Ethan

| Thanks Ethan. I have a question about the ventilation through bass traps. I have the closet booth where I plan to hang a suspended ceiling bass trap. Can the ventilation on top be above the bass trap, or will it obstruct the airflow too much? If the air circulation will not work through the bass trap, I figure I can either: a) put the ventilation exhaust below the suspended bass trap ceiling, which will put it at about 7.5 feet high - closer to the mic which may pickup some fan noise. b) Don't cover the entire closet ceiling and leave a gap in the back wall where the ventilation vents are - they will be on the same wall, one on the bottom, one on the top in opposite corners. |

| Bass traps made of rigid fiberglass are sort of porous. But you don't want your air flow to go through it, i f that's what you're asking. --Ethan
