Window - hide or not?

In my room I have two large bottom to almost ceiling windows, one which also acts as a door to a balcony.

I was wondering about generally speaking which of the following two options is better:

1. Put the bookshelf in spot 1, behind the mixer position and leave the window open
2. Put the bookshelf in spot 2, and cover up the window

Thanks a lot in advance!

Do you have acoustic treatment in the room? Both points 1 and 2 are great places for bass traps (though 2 should be straddling the corner). So I'd actually put the bookshelf somewhere else.

Yes, I have acoustic treatment, I should have mentioned that. In the corners I have put floor to ceiling rolls of fiberglass (about 60cm diameter).
