Metal or Wood studs, Drop or sheetrock ceiling

I am starting my garage studio build. It's a room inside room design. I have 2 questions:
1) Which is better for wall construction- wood or metal studs?
2) Which is better for ceiling- Acoustic ceiling tiles or sheetrock? Are ceiling tiles a waste of money?
I will be sheetrocking drum & vocal room ceiling. Would acoustic drop ceiling be OK for control room ceiling?
