Thread Starter | Here is the blueprint for our new studio space. The red walls indicate usable space. There is a music school in the front of the building with noise throughout the day. Any walls can be torn down or added. I am looking for recommendations for control room and tracking room / rooms. I will be doing multitrack with drums, etc. Thanks for any help!!! ![]() |

| I'd make the larger 21 by 17 space the main room where you mix and track most things, and use the two smaller rooms for booths. Set up the speakers at the bottom of the larger room facing toward the top. Plan on a lot of bass trapping in all three rooms. --Ethan

Thread Starter | Ethan thanks so much for your post! There may be a chance that our plans change and we put up a wall in the large 21x17 room. So i redrew the rooms and put in mock placement of my studio desk and room treatment. Just FYI the ceiling has ceiling tiles. The studio desk in the right room is if I can't use the big room at all. Thanks for any suggestions or corrects to where I should put things. ![]() |

| Those rooms are all too small. Better to have fewer rooms that are large enough to sound good, rather than more rooms that all sound bad. --Ethan |

Thread Starter | Control / Mixing Room Do you think the Control / Mixing room is too small now with the wall I put up? I could knock out the wall in the 2 tracking rooms to make it bigger. Thanks so much for your help! |

| Without knowing how you plan to use this space it's difficult for me to be specific. Generally, large rooms sound better than small rooms, and most amateur studios don't need multiple isolation booths as much as they need a single room that's large enough to sound good. --Ethan |
