| Drum Room Size I have a shed conversion in mind. I will solely record acoustic drums. The basic outer shell of the shed is: Height - 11ft, Width - 23ft, Length - 38ft That's before room within a room construction and acoustic treatments etc. So it's a cert the space will be smaller. I'm looking for a medium live sound with some flexibility. I haven't the space for a commercial sized live drum room, but the space I have is larger than most home studios I think. What is a good size for a drum room? Are the dimensions above adequate? I could expand the space a little, mostly in the length of the room, but would rather not. I've searched this site and a few others, but not found any comments on ideal drum room size. Thanks! ![]()

| When i was looking for the same information, i found that good drum room should be at least 20m2 large, with at least 3,5m high ceilings. Of course, accoustic treatment and angles of walls and ceilng have a big effect on sound of Your room. |

| That's a really good size! Once you've done your build you should lose about a foot in each direction so you're still left with a fantastic space. A little extra height would be nice but to be honest I wouldn't be too worried about that as you should have around 10' once the build is finished. |

| It is difficult to give a complete answer in bits and bites (posts). Philip Newel discusses live rooms (including drum rooms) extensively in Recording Studio Design. BTW there is a second edition. It is highly recommended. Andre |
