Pic of my room dimensions. Need help with room treatment please!

Here is a picture of the dimensions of my basement. I need some suggestions on room treatment for certain corners (cheap alternatives). Also, where do you think a good position to mix would be in this basement? (cement walls and floors w/ carpet in some places). Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

P.S. I work at Lowe's in lumber so I can get a discount on some things...So any ideas about bass traps or absorption/diffusion panels would be great.

thank you...One of my big questions was where should I mix in that room...I'm not sure if I should go in the area where the longest area is behind me or where everything is symmetrical or what. Take a look at that picture and let me know where I should mix. Also, would a cloud over the drums be a good idea with 8.5' ceilings with vertical rafters?

i would fire down the long end of the room, ethan told me this i believe one time, and its always been the best looking and sounding for me.

i think its because of how where the room modes will be. if your speakers are along the 30' wall i think your modes will be in the low low end, and thats harder to treat.

i don't know man. thats just pulling some old dust out of my brain, i could be completely wrong.

I would set up facing the 18' wall and straddle as many corners as possible.

should I set up right in the middle of the 18' wall for proper stereo imaging? or should I go to the left a little bit to have the longer distance behind me? I just don't know if those stairs like 8' or 9' behind me will give me less low end. And if I set up 1/3 of the way forward from the wall so I can listen at 38% I would be almost halfway to those stairs. Just not sure what to do.

where are the bottom of the stairs? the south side of the pic? ...and do you know the distance from the west wall to the stairs, as well as from the north wall to the stairs?

the bottom of the stairs are at the top of the pic near the pool table. I don't know what you mean by south side of the pic. I could find out other dimensions if I need to.

i meant, is the bottom of the stairs on the southern/bottom end of your diagram. the 18' wall might be best, or maybe the 26' side depending on the actual location of the stairs and how far from the "front" wall the monitors and monitoring position will be.

very generally speaking i think your room will support down to 17 Hz.

you can always run some kind of analysis from different potential monitoring positions if ur worried about less low end. i've been messing with fuzzmeasure recently.
